Shadow Cast
A block stands under a light · read the light's direction and pick the flat shadow it casts. Spatial projection, no reading needed
About Shadow Cast
Shadow Cast is a compact PlayMemorize mini-game about spatial projection. A block sits under a light · read where the light is coming from and pick the flat shadow the block casts.
How a round works. The light moves to a new corner each round; you work out which way the shadow falls and tap the matching shape. Feedback is immediate, and a new seeded round keeps the puzzle fresh without sending any state away from your browser.
Still in beta. Shadow Cast was broken out of the Spatial Reasoning hub into its own game · it is still being tuned, so you will find it in the Beta section of the library.
Age-aware practice. Library links can carry an age band into the game so the opening difficulty fits the player who launched it.
Part of PlayMemorize, a passion project from Christoffer De Geer. It runs in the browser and is designed for short, honest practice rounds.
FAQ
-
What does Shadow Cast train?
Shadow Cast trains spatial projection · reading a 3D object and a light direction to predict the 2D shadow it casts · through short rounds with immediate feedback. -
How do I know which shadow is right?
A shadow always falls away from the light, so the corner the sun sits in points straight to the answer · the shadow you want is the cube throwing it toward the opposite corner. -
Why is Shadow Cast in beta?
It was just split out of the Spatial Reasoning hub into a standalone game, so it lives in the Beta section while its difficulty and visuals are finished. -
Why is Shadow Cast excluded from worksheets for now?
The puzzle depends on an interactive light cue that a printed page cannot show, so a paper version would not be a fair test of the same skill.
