Memory Game
Match emoji cards with their word labels across 10 categories
About PlayMemorize Memory
PlayMemorize Memory is the classic Concentration / Pelmanism card-matching game, rebuilt for the browser with Twemoji art and 25 localised emoji-name lists. Flip cards two at a time to find matching pairs · matching all of them ends the round, and the fewest-flips streak per setup is saved locally.
Nine emoji categories. Smileys & emotion, people & body, animals & nature, food & drink, travel & places, activities, objects, symbols, and flags · the full Unicode CLDR taxonomy. Each category ships dozens to hundreds of pairs in every site language, so a Polish player sees Polish names ("kot", "pies") and a Japanese player sees Japanese ones ("ねこ", "いぬ"). One game, 25 vocabularies.
Grid sizes from 2×2 to 6×10. Four cards is a 5-second warm-up; 60 cards is a multi-minute working-memory workout. The grid scales to phone, tablet, and desktop · cells stay roughly square in every aspect ratio so a portrait phone gets a taller, narrower grid and a landscape monitor gets a wider one.
Two game modes. Emoji-to-emoji matches identical cards · pure visual memory, the way the classic table-top game plays. Emoji-to-word matches a picture card to its localised name card · doubles as a vocabulary drill in the chosen category. Both modes support 1 to 4 players for hot-seat multiplayer · take turns flipping cards and the player who clears the most pairs wins.
Part of the PlayMemorize family of brain-training games. Runs entirely in your browser, works offline as a Progressive Web App.
FAQ
-
How does my progress save in the Memory Game?
Your fewest-flips record per (grid size, mode, category) combination is stored locally in your browser, so beating your 4×4 animals record is independent of your 6×10 flags record. Sign in to sync the same records across phone, tablet, and desktop. -
What categories of emojis are available?
Nine categories sourced from Unicode CLDR: smileys & emotion, people & body, animals & nature, food & drink, travel & places, activities, objects, symbols, and flags. Each category has dozens to hundreds of unique emoji pairs and all of them are translated into the 25 PlayMemorize languages. -
Can I adjust the difficulty?
Yes. Choose grid sizes from 2×2 (4 cards) up to 6×10 (60 cards), and switch between matching emoji-to-emoji or emoji-to-name for an extra challenge. The name-match mode doubles as a vocabulary drill in your chosen category. -
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Pick 2, 3, or 4 players from the setup screen for hot-seat multiplayer. Players take turns flipping pairs · a successful match earns another turn, a miss passes play to the next person. The player who collects the most pairs wins. -
Where do the emoji images come from?
Every card renders as a Twemoji SVG · the same vector emoji set Twitter open-sourced. That means a smiley looks identical on iOS, Android, Windows, and the web, so two players flipping the "grinning face" card never disagree on what they saw. -
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. PlayMemorize is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops. It also works offline as a Progressive Web App · install once and the cards play without an internet connection.
