About Crazy Comparisons

Crazy Comparisons is a free estimation quiz that makes numbers tangible. A slot machine spins to reveal a fun question - like "How many rubber ducks fill an Olympic swimming pool?" - and you choose the closest answer from four options.

How it works. Press "Spin!" and watch four slots blur with random words. They lock one by one, building suspense, until a complete question appears. Pick your answer, see if you're right, and read the math behind it.

What you learn. Every question is a mini Fermi estimation problem - the kind of back-of-the-envelope reasoning used by scientists and engineers. Players develop number sense, scale awareness, and the ability to make educated guesses about quantities they've never measured.

For all ages. Kids aged 6-12 love the slot machine animation and the surprising answers ("40 million popcorn kernels weigh as much as an elephant!"). Older players enjoy the mental math challenge. Every explanation shows the real calculation so you can verify the answer yourself.
