About PlayMemorize Transitions
Transitions is a cohesion game about the small words that hold writing together. Two related sentences appear with a blank between them, and you pick the connector · however, therefore, meanwhile, for example · that expresses the actual logical relationship between them.
How a round works. Read both sentences and name the relationship first: does the second sentence follow from the first (cause), push against it (contrast), pile on (addition), happen alongside it (time), or illustrate it (example)? Then pick the connector from that family. The distractors always come from the other families, so a correct read of the relationship is the whole game.
Why it matters. Transition words are the road signs of prose · they tell the reader what the next sentence is going to do before it does it. Writers who choose them precisely are easier to follow; readers who register them parse arguments faster. Standardised reading and writing tests lean on exactly this skill.
Fully localised. The sentence pairs and connector families are authored natively in all 25 supported languages · each locale reads real sentences in its own language with its own connectors.

FAQ
-
What is Transitions?
A sentence-cohesion game. Two sentences appear with a blank between them and you choose the connector that expresses their real logical relationship · cause, contrast, addition, time or example. One wrong answer ends the streak. -
How do I pick the right connector?
Name the relationship before looking at the options. If the second sentence is a consequence, you need the cause family (therefore, as a result); if it pushes back, contrast (however); if it adds evidence, addition (moreover). The wrong options are from other families, so the relationship decides everything. -
What does it train?
Rhetorical cohesion · the skill of signalling how ideas relate. It sharpens both writing (choosing precise connectors) and reading (using connectors to predict where an argument goes). -
Does it work in my language?
Yes · the sentences and the connector families are written natively for each of the 25 supported languages, not machine-translated from English. -
