Every item is a stable, textbook-level fact and carries an internal source note (for example "Apollo 11 Moon landing · July 1969") shown in the reveal panel. Each wrong candidate question also records its own true answer, so the pool is audited to guarantee no round has two defensible picks.

What changes with difficulty?

Two things: category breadth and distractor subtlety. Easy rounds use distractors from clearly different eras or domains and show three candidates; hard rounds keep only the subtle distractors · nearby years, sibling concepts · and show all four.

And the Question Is... flips trivia on its head, Jeopardy style. Instead of a question, you get the ANSWER · "1969", "Photosynthesis", "The Pacific Ocean" · plus a category hint, and you pick which question that answer actually answers from a short list of candidates. Every wrong candidate is a real question with a different real answer, so each round quietly teaches you several facts at once.

The pool spans six categories. History (from Caesar to the Cold War), science (cells, forces, elements), geography (oceans, capitals, ranges), math (angles, sequences, definitions), everyday life (kitchens, money, time) and culture (art, music, books, games). Over a hundred hand-curated answer/question pairs, each with three handcrafted near-miss questions and a source note behind it.

Why answers-first is a real workout. Recognising "1969 · Moon landing" is easy; deciding that 1969 is NOT the year WWII ended, NOT the year the Berlin Wall fell, and NOT the year the Titanic sank forces you to actually place the fact against its neighbours.
