About The Tactical Game
The Tactical Game puts you inside real split-second decisions from history · the moment a single battle, rescue or negotiation hung in the balance. You read the genuine situation as the decision-maker saw it · Henry V cornered at Agincourt, Apollo 13 running out of breathable air, a Soviet submarine under depth charges in 1962 · and choose between four courses of action. One of them is what was actually done, and it worked.
Every scenario is curated and documented. The pool spans battles from Salamis to Inchon, aviation and space emergencies, business crises and diplomatic brinkmanship, and each round ends with a short explanation of how the moment played out · with the names, dates and a source note · so a wrong guess still teaches the real history.
Difficulty controls how deep the pool goes. Easy serves the famous moments; hard unlocks the deep cuts, from Frederick’s oblique march at Leuthen to the “SCE to AUX” call that saved Apollo 12. The game never repeats a scenario until you have seen the whole pool.

FAQ
-
How do I play The Tactical Game?
Each round shows a real historical situation · a battle, an emergency, a negotiation · ending at the moment of decision. Pick the action you believe was taken from four choices. The historically correct choice wins the round, and every answer reveals what actually happened, with names and dates. -
Are the scenarios historically accurate?
Yes. Every scenario is a famous, well-documented moment, written from standard historical sources and official reports, and each one carries a source note (for example "US Airways 1549, 15 January 2009 · NTSB accident report"). The correct answer is always the action that was really taken and that really worked. -
What is the difference from The Strategy Game?
Scale. The Tactical Game is about immediate decisions · a single battle, landing, rescue or negotiation, decided in minutes or hours. The Strategy Game is the same idea at grand scale: campaigns, corporate pivots and national policy that played out over years. -
What do the difficulty settings change?
Difficulty gates how obscure the scenarios get. Easy stays with the famous moments; medium adds well-documented but less-known ones; hard opens the whole pool, including the deep cuts. Longer runs also broaden the mix from battles into rescues, business crises and political brinkmanship. -
Do scenarios repeat?
Not until you have seen them all. The game tracks which scenarios you have played and cycles through the entire curated pool before any decision point comes back.
