A thick book explodes like a bomb, and a garden gnome walks out of the smoke.

Picture this vividly: You’re sitting in a library when an enormous leather-bound book on the table starts shaking. The pages flutter wildly, then BOOM, it explodes like a bomb, blasting pages everywhere like confetti. Smoke and sparks fill the room. Through the haze, a small garden gnome with a bright red pointy hat waddles out calmly, brushing soot off his tiny shoulders. He looks up at you, winks, and sits down in your chair like he owns the place. Bits of burnt paper are still drifting down around him.

A fur coat gets tangled in a chain and drags across a sandy shore.

Picture this vividly: A luxurious white fur coat is flapping in the wind on a clothesline near the beach. A heavy iron chain, rusted and thick, swings loose from a harbour post and snags the coat. The chain yanks the fur off the line and drags it across a golden sandy shore, leaving a deep groove in the wet sand. Waves crash over them both. The fur gets soaked and heavy, the chain clanks and rattles with each wave. Seagulls circle overhead, screaming, as the coat and chain tumble together into the surf.
